Niki Padidar is born in TEHRAN, Iran, in 1979.

In that year the Islamic revolution takes place in Iran. The Sjah gets driven out.

In 1980 Saddam Hoessein invades Iran. The Iran-Iraq war begins and goes on for 8 years. In 1986 Niki and her parents leave Iran and move to the Netherlands.

AMSTERDAM

Niki studies Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam. During this time she also attends the ‘Gerrit Rietveld Academie’; the art academy in Amsterdam, For a year.

Niki goes to NEW YORK where she studies photography at the New School University in Manhattan.

Back in AMSTERDAM.
